Welcome to the teen years where you suddenly know better than your parents. They have to be more strict at the same pace that you get more freedom. That's their job. They set expectations and you need to meet them to get trust and freedom. If you don't like it you get a brick wall and arguements. It's no different than when you were first starting to crawl and wanted to go and touch everything in the house and they had to set limits. Your just older now and have larger boundaries. Soon you will be 18 and the world is yours. You will never have to talk to them again if you don't want to and you can do whatever you want for the next 50 years or so, so surely you can cooperate a bit and try to be happy for just 5 short years. make the best of the family that sends you on your own way to a long life without them in such a short time.

Yep, 13&14 is normal. I know a boy who'll be 18 next month, he's only a junior. However I think he dropped out for being made fun for it

Usually when I feel like running away from home, i would just let time fly. I don't talk to my parents about it. I'm 14 and a sophomore. Turning 15 this month in the 15th.

I agree, talk it out and just do what is expected of you. These are things that prepare you for the real world when you grow up and are on your own. Things always tend to work out but be sure that you do your part to help make that happen. Wish you the best

Honey, it took me till I moved out. But my mom still nags all the time. They think you'll always be their baby. Is that what it is? Your mom is always all over your back and stricter than other parents you know? You may not believe me...but now I'm glad they were that way, however I hated it as a child!!!!! I moved out on my 18th birthday

It's not like that.. It's like " I never ask you for anything" or "when have we ever said no?" or just stuff that's completely false or how it's seem like they aren't liking me as much as 2 other brothers.. Or how I NEVER ask for money but the one time I do ask its a life or death situation.. (for my dog) this happened with my other brother and he got to move out.. Why can't I? They also said theyd let me move out at 17
