How do you get rid of or prevent a headache? I got a really bad one and it hurts a lot. What can I do?

I always get in a quiet, dark room and put a cold rag on my forehead. And of course take Excedrine Migraine. Caffeine also helps.

If it's a migraine the doctors at the ER said Advil is the best OTC for it. Quit dark rooms help. If it is a pressure headache putting a warm tight ( winter) hat on helps. Taking a shower may help also, it makes your whole body the same temp. I know it sounds weird but when your body temp is out of whack it can make you feel lousy. Also massaging your head and forehead helps too. :)
