How would you say "get away" for an essay? Get-a-way, get a way, get away? Which one?

Please help!!! Thanks ;)

It won't be right any of those ways because it's improper. It's a lazy way of talking that people try to translate into writing. In order for it to be proper you would have to finish the sentence. e.g. Get away from me, I told him get away from me, etc. But if you really want to write it just type "get away" I guess.

Honestly, my secret (get-a-way????) is the place I am most comfortable: My room.
What do you think?

That is incorrect. A getaway can be a place for instance a honeymoon on a secluded island.

No, it isn't improper at all, but your question can't be answered properly without knowing what the statement or question is.

Most likely it is get away but it depends on your sentence.
