Why do my 1 week old kittens have diarrhea?
Hey, one week ago exactly I found a liter of abandoned kittens. There were 4 living, spread out and very cold.. I don't think they ever ate from their mother. They also had juices from their mother on their fur and umbilical cords. There were 2 other kittens that were still in the film from the mother giving birth as well. The mother was too young, and she was defiantly inbred (I know this because it was at my aunt's house where they were born). Anyway! Only 2 kittens have survived, and they are growing very rapidly! I had know idea about kittens before I started taking care of them, but Google has helped tremendously. Right now both of the kittens are eating very regularly, about every 3 hours. One question is, should I keep waking them up for their feedings? I tried waiting so I didn't stress the kittens, but after 4 and a half hours I woke them up to eat. Also, the kittens are very bloated and they have diarrhea. Their diarrhea is an orange-ish color. They have had solid poop but regularly it's diarrhea. Any information will be greatly appreciated! I definitely hope to keep them alive, they're such sweet little furballs! :)
