iPad is a good instrument and if you wait for newer 2010 models they may not be better. iPad has improved since the first model was released. Competitors have not come close to the iPad as far as users are concerned. 2010 models will not change much before the end of the year. For the money, iPad is the best value and you get the Apple company bells and whistles, that you do not get with the competitors models.
The only thing that might be coming on 2011 iPad would be the possibility of a 4G model or just bigger memory. I have 3 friends who work at apple stores and there is no rumors or plans about the 4G though since that all falls onto ATT configuring their network to support 4G.
IPad is a very useful tool and I love using it. Will never replace a MacBook pro though :)
What divvva says is absolutely true. I have read exactly that in Wired magazine, and on the website called 'iphoneness' I quote "there will be a model about 2 inches smaller screen size, same memory size, it will likely include a version of "FaceTime" and it is expected to include a USB port. Nice additional touch is---lower price because the screen is smaller at 7inches versus 9 inches, and the cost of the current model is not bringing in the number of sales that Jobs thought it would this quarter. Also, this will be a Verizon supported product, and there should be an early discount for the 4G premier. Of course, Mr. Jobs will not confirm or deny this---but everyone guessed what his "secret" iTunes unveiling last month was---the Beatles catalog finally coming to iTunes after being tied up in legal issues for 9 years. Wait for it in 2011-it's worth a few months of not being sure, and after Christmas sales wont hurt matters at all!
