Are our public libraries pertinent the age of the internet?

In neighborhoods where people cannot afford the internet the library (that offers free internet) have become extremely important. Its also one of the few places you can go that has a/c and no one will kick you out, just pick up a book and start reading.

Yes. Half the stuff on the internet isn't true. If you were an academic researcher the library is an important resource.

Yes, they are. In addition to traditional books and reference materials, they offer internet access to those without computers, they "loan" out e-books, and they still provide a necessary cornerstone to civilized infrastructure.

most of the main librarys are.....some of the smaller satellite ones are not
