My friends calling me stupid because of this? Help?

I'm 15 I'm 5"0 and 88lbs I was 91 lbs I have lost weight cause I'm only eating 600 calories a day my friends found this out and they are like your stupid and that's dumb etc... it makes me feel bad I mean it's my body leave me alone?! what do I do I just wanna lose some weight and they make me feel bad

I'm sure you're not stupid, but what you are doing IS stupid... sorry.

Eating only 600 calories a day is not a very smart thing to do. You can't possibly be getting the nutrients your body needs from 600 calories/day diet. Poor nutrition can cause all kinds of health problems. Your body will take protein from your muscles & muscles organs to keep itself alive; you're damaging your heart & other vital organs.
Your height & weight are normal, don't try to lose any more weight, you'll be too thin... not to mention, really unhealthy.

Yep, it is your body, but it will be a body with damaged organs that won't live very long with the way you're treating it.

Your not stupid you just need to stick to at least 2000 calories a day or it can be bad for your body! God bless ya! :)

You're not stupid but if you keep people around you like that then one may think that you are. That's verbal abuse and friends don't abuse friends. Tell them to stop calling you out of your name because your mother didn't give you that name and if they persist then tell them bye bye no matter how many calories you eat you don't deserve to be called stupid.

You still young and your body is still growing. I needs more calories then you are giving it. Maybe eat healthier foods. I don't think you are ignorant about the issue as your friends say, but I think you are very uninformed about this very unhealthy habit you have

1800-2000 Calories a day is good for you. Don't be anorexic, 91 lbs isn't "fat."

You need to GAIN weight. You're healthy weight for your height is between 110 to 120 pounds. I know you're young, and you feel like that's a lot. But I promise it isn't! You will still look beautiful! And you'll be healthy! Just have a healthy diet and maintain the healthy weight and stay active!

nice that you are losing weight ! but you risk losing other things with a ridiculous low calorie diet. hmmm... things like calcium that your teeth and bones need and the health of your vital organs...liver and heart. you also risk screwing up your metabolism

stop it ! 600 a day is not enough.

To lose weight, it is recommended to eat a little less than you need to maintain your current body weight. 600 is a little drastic, but as long as you don't do it for too long your fine. Your friend just jealous.

It is not alright even for a little while. Her body is will not show the damage she's causing until full adulthood. It suggests an eating disorder.

That's a very unhealthy way to lose weight, you can and should eat 2,000 calories a day and calories is just a way to measure energy in food, calories doesn't mean fat.

you arent stupid. they arent real friends if they call you that. youre right, it is your body but you dont need to lose weight. you are perfect the way you are. and if you lose anymore weight and if you dont eat much, you could get sick. trust me.....i know

Balance your calorie intake with your exercise and don't take any notice of other peoples opinions.
One tip.... Don't go around telling people you are starving yourself. 600 calories per day is gonna make you ill.

I don't know much about calories, but if you are 88 lbs at age 15, do not worry about your weight, just worry about your school work and go to the school counselor and explain to him or her what your problem is and see what they can do. Don't ever think you are stupid no matter how wierd you act or think. 88 lbs is a Wisconsin weight average for 15 to 16 year olds.

I think ur anerexic go get help please And ur bmi is 17.2 so ur underweight it should be 18.5 and up

I know what you mean, I totally felt like that but i ate less than that like 500 cal a day but just eat what you want! Ur beautiful the way u are :) and you only live once and ur friends just want the best for you. Even if u think ur fat, I know at ur height and weight u deff are not!

I feel the same way!! I actually got in a big fight and never saw my friends again after they bullied me on pictures because I was eating 800 calories a day. It is not healthy so I gained weight cuz I was anorexic.... Make sure it doesn't go that far but after you diet eat 1650 healthy calories to maintain

Obviously people have already told you the health consequences from eating so few calories, but here's something to think about: when you don't eat enough to support your body and organs, your body then thinks it is starving. When your body thinks it's starving, it packs on any calories you do eat at fat, in case of a future starvation period. Basically, it goes into survival mode. By eating a diet of 1700-2000 calories per day, you can maintain your weight, and your body won't freak out and start hoarding fat cells. You are a beautiful young lady and while your friends are not handling this the best way, they are just concerned for your well being.

no your not stupid for some one who is still growing you should eat more then 600 cals your body needs it even if you dont its better for your health better for your brain cause a good breakfast is wat helps you to be able to study in the morning so how bout this eat a big breakfast small lunch and med dinner and when you can to stay in good shape work out i hope this helps......... stay in school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol

Youre not stupid, what you're doing is. The average healthy person should consume around 1000 calories a day. If you want to lose weight simply go on a diet consisting of healthier food, maintain a consistent diet, and get plenty of exercise.
