How do you remove a water stain from a sofa?

I put my wet hair on my parents sofa and it left a big red mark so I blow dried it. it mostly went away but there's a dark ring and it's very noticeable. how do I get rid of it? I don't know what the material is but it's the kind that you can draw on with your finger

it is microsuade. my dog licked my boyfriends couch and left a big wet spot. I had to use a bagpipes and a blowdryer. search removing water spots from microsuade... it will be explained.
