How do I relieve pain from a pinched nerve? my doctor has given me muscle relaxers, pain relievers, and an anti-inflamatory. nothing works

I've had pinched nerves in my back before and I know what you mean. The pain pills only dull the pain a bit. Try having someone massage the area that hurts. Also it may hurt more because it is cold out. Put a heating pad on the area. I know that a heating pad helped me when I pinched the nerves in my back. Try not to do so much right now, you will only keep it from healing. Also do take the anti inflammatory medication it will help muscle swelling and keep the nerve from getting more pinched. Hope you feel better soon.

Keep taking the recommended dosage for the anti-inflammatory and add some heat to the mix...moist heat will help relax those muscles surrounding the nerve...you get electric heating pads that have an insert that you dampen and put in the pad and it feels like a hot bath...very soothing...hope this is useful!

Warmth, massage, mild stretching, muscle relaxers to reduce spasms. It's still going to take several days. Find a good book. Draw a bath and settle in for a few days.
