Why does my iphone drop my wifi connection?

I have an airport extreme wireless router. It seems to be maybe when the iphone switches between 3G and Edge?

Your iPhone could be dropping WiFi connection as a result of altered router settings. You can fix this problem by enabling DHCP server to increase the maximum number of users then change the starting distributed IP address to a-one-digit number. Try also to extend the client lease time.

Unless your wifi is coming from a router that will give you wifi where ever (Verizon) then as soon as you are out of range of that router, *poof* no wifi.

There may be something wrong with the connection or the phone. But the best thing to do is contact your phone company

I had the exact same problem. I worked with support at both my router company and apple, but the problem persisted. I didn't want to upgrade my iphone, b/c if I did, my plan would increase. But after dealing with it for 4 months, I broke down and bought a rebuilt iphone for $20 on att's website. Yes my plan is now outrageous!
