Are flea foggers safe to use in the house during a pregnancy

We have recently discovered a flea problem in my home, so my girlfriend (who is currently 4 and 1/2 months pregnant) and I went out and bought a fogger.. However, we hadn't thought to ask if this was going to be safe to use in our home during her pregnancy.. Anyone..?

Honestly, I've heard it said dying your hair when you're pregnant is bad for baby. I'm not sure I would trust it. Most important is, after you fog, will you continually come into contact with the residue. It will land on counters, couches, inside cabinets (if within a certain proximity of the fogger). Any chance you could use a sprayer of flea killer rather than a fogger? It won't get all over things as badly while you're carrying your lil' bundle : )

It should be safe for you to use flea sprays during pregnancy. Flea sprays and other domestic pesticides are highly regulated in the UK. No flea sprays that you can buy are known to cause birth defects in an unborn baby

Just be sure to follow directions on the canister. It would be best if your friend was removed from site during the following wash-up & airing out to avoid any possible adverse reaction that lingering fumes from the fogger can cause. Pregnant women are notoriously sensitive to smells & most people find the fumes from fogging somewhat gag inducing.

Most of them are safe, but only if used in the right quantity. It is important to check the labels for any list of chemicals considered not safe. You should also inquire at the store before buying if the product is safe.

I just spoke with MY Ob/Gyn- and she said that ANY products to get the flea infestation under control are SAFE. She is more concerned with the bites and possible infection than the small amount of chemicals in DEET - have your gf use a mosquito spray on her arms, leg and any other exposed area. Purchase a Canister of flea/bed bug killer and SPRAY it around the house, vacuum one day later. DO NOT BOMB THE HOUSE.
