Would you rather visit Florida or California? Why?

Report as

I already live in Florida so I would want to visit California so that I can go to see a live taping of Wheel of Fortune or a live taping of a TV show. (I love TV!) Also I would want to visit Madame Tussaude's wax museum and see the wax replicas of celebrities :D

:D I've been in the wax museum, it's cool!
Report as
After seeing the wax museum horror
movies that were prevalent when I
was growing up, I just don't know......
I'd be hearing little voices begging
to be freed from their wax prisons.

OrlandoLover, where do you live.
Report as
Just wondering... where in California do you live, and what is the cheapest rent for an apartment? :D
Report as
Wait, do you live in Orlando? o.O
Report as
I know that it's way more expensive than Florida.
Report as
yeah, I hear that :(
Report as
LOL! I live in Wisconsin ;)

it is expensive...
Report as
Especially near L.A. Maybe places in San Diego are a little cheaper.

also umm..... how easy would it be for a vacationer in L.A. to get around by public transportation only?. just wondering
Report as
There's not very many cabs/taxis in places that aren't in downtown. You should rent a car if you think of traveling there.
Report as
I meant by bus

Why? Its FAR more beautiful than Florida?

something is seriously wrong with you
Report as
L.O.L, you mean tra1215, right?
Report as
Well, I'm sure there are plenty of kind and wonderful people in CA, but I've never met one. Everyone I know from CA (in person--not the people I know online) thinks that everywhere outside of CA is nothing but back woods hick country. One girl actually asked me, "How can you stand living HERE (in MI)? What do you DO?" I was tempted to say, "Why, I lay in the tall, tall grass and chew on straw all day, what else?" But I took the high road.

Also, I understand that everything is more expensive there, the expressways are death traps and that you can barely breathe in L.A. because of all the smog.
Report as
In DOWNTOWN L.A you can barely breathe, but in the clubs you can! True, people from California and people from New York aren't the nicest in person. There still places in California (central California) that has fields of fruits and vegetables, though.
Report as
Well, you seem very nice, Melissa. I don't mean to judge. I've just been very offended in the past, ya know? I suppose certain reality shows haven't helped to change my mind either, lol. No city should ever make a reality show with their name in the title. It always seems to turn out bad.
Report as
What do you mean?
Report as
I was thinking of shows like Real Housewives of Orange County, Laguna Beach or Jersey Shore. They gave people bad impressions of those cities.
Report as
Jersey Shore is in New Jersey...or are you just giving examples?
Report as
Yes, that was just an example of a reality show that gave a bad impression of the city in which it was set. I'm clear on the geographical location. But do you see what I mean?
Report as
Sort of, but people still like Orange County, New Jersey, and Laguna Beach. Jersey Shore deffinately didn't get a good impression.
Report as
It's been my experience that I have
found pretty much who/what I expected to find wherever I have
traveled. When I go with no expectations of how people will
behave, I am usually pleased with
the trip.
Report as
Good post ljane. Then I'm back to my original idea. That I have no desire to visit CA, because I have a pre-conceived notion ;)

I lived in California for 14 years and Florida for 10 years. They are both equally nice, I like Florida more.

I would rather visit California. I hear that Florida is uptight with a lot of selfish jerks. California is more laid back and friendly, or so I'm told.
