Yes. They have gained a whole lifetime of experience. Many cultures have great reverence for the aged for their wisdom. I hate that our culture doesn't.

I dont like old people. I am going to be one sooner than I wish. They are crabby. Its because of all the aches and pains, regrets, yada, yada...hmmm? maybe I'm already there! (dag nammit!)

Old people are a wealth of knowledge. They are walking history. And if you encounter a grouchy old person try to imagine being old in a society that worships youth. In the U.S. old people are often swept aside as being useless and burdensome unlike in other cultures where they are honored and revered.

My family always revered our old-nowadays there is no respect at all. (but I still don't like the elderly-see too many who start trouble over petty things and make it tough for young families with kids just cuz they're annoyed.
