Does hair color affect how a dog will react to you?

My family recently got a new dog. She's a 2 year old German Shepard. We adopted her from the previous owner. We think she was hit often because of the way she always flinches. My family all has blonde hair and I have brown. The dog is scared of me the most. I try to be as happy and gentle around her, but it doesn't seem to do much good. Is it because my hair is different from everyone elses? Or could it be something else?

Often, especially when a dog has a history of abuse, there is something that triggers their fear.. It could be something that reminds them of their abuser .. Like a baseball cap, a uniform, a beard .. or even a tone of voice. A dog that responds to those 'triggers' has been conditioned to fear them .. Now that it's in your hands, you have to re-condition it to have no fear any more.. Be patient and soft spoken to break through it's already established fears.

Its possible. The previous owner/ owners might have had brown hair and your dog was treated badly by them, so everytime your dog sees brown hair, it reminds her of being treated badly. Don't worry though, eventually your do will learn that you treat it nicely and get over the hair color. btw please answer mine ( go to my name)
