I gave myself to Jesus 16 years ago. I had always heard about having a relationship with Him. So I thought, "Well, what can I do to have a relationship with Him." I thought, "Well, I'll treat Him like I would my best friend." I started by reading to Him out loud from the Bible. I talk to Him and tell Him everything. I write letters and mail them to Him at my address. I tell Him I love Him. And more. My relationship with Christ is the most important thing in my life.
Certainly true. My Christianity is because of my relationship with Jesus Christ. My religion could be any denomination that follows Christ. Christianity is having Jesus as your personal Savior, Redeemer, role model, etc. Religion is a group of believers coming together to worship and serve God.
That is true.Christianity is not really a religion; it is a relationship with God. It is trusting in Jesus and what He did on the cross for you (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), not on what you can do for yourself (Ephesians 2:8-9). Christianity is not about ornate buildings, flamboyant preachers, or traditional rituals. Christianity is about truly accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Why don't you go look up the definition of religion. I'll at best say it's both- I'm legalistic and don't like propaganda redefining our meanings of words. Hitler did this with his campaign. I know it seems benign to manipulate words but understand that words have a profound effect on our reality. In some languages there is no word for house. Realize that word trends have an effect- you can see it even in more obvious terms like compare the economic state of japan to Uganda- if you think the language and definition of words has no effect on this you are mistaken. We are a better society for know words the the world once did not know like "dictatorship." Being able to accurately identify what everything is is not a bad thing. Though I'm not so sure "krunk" is a super valuable word.
