If you don't want to kill it get a bucket and put peanut butter in the bottom of it then build a ramp up to the top of the bucket so they fall in to get the peanut butter then do what you wish with them. If you want to kill them, fill about 3 inches high of the bucket with water and put peanut butter in foil and float it on water in the bottom of the bucket, use the ramp and they will fall in the bucket and try to get the peanut butter and drown.

Sorry I was typing fast :/ and build a ramp to the top of the bucket. Fill the bottom of the bucket with water and float foil(like a bowl shaped) with peanut butter in the foil

We had a mouse one time in our kitchen and our kitchen is clean too so I don't know why it got there but my mom put a piece of dog treat on the mouse trap and the next morning it was there.

Wanting to come out of bad weather is one reason. Could be some of your neighbors are not as clean. Especially if there is trash anywhere outside they will be attracted to the area.

Maybe you neighbors have a dirty house so they come over to yours cause you right next to them. Maybe the weather outside is bad. Anything really. Just get a mouse trap those work!
