Can you have a allergic reaction to a something in a band aid?

i know it sounds crazy but i had a cut on my finger and i had a band aid (band-aid brand) on it then we went to my grand parents house and after washing my hands i had to change it after having the other band aid on for a while my finger started to hurt everywhere the adhesive part was and now it looks like im getting a small rash there... they had an off brand of band aids could that have anything to do with it? and why did it break out?

Anybody can be allergic to anything. You could be allergic to the adhesive its self, you may not have dried your finger as well as you thought you did & the area where the band-aid is got irritated. Try using some neosporin & a cotton dressing (2x2 with some tape) not a nylon tape. If it gets any worse, becomes red, warm to the touch or starts to have any drainage please seek medical help!! I hope this helped. Good luck.
