Are tattoos a sin? (i'm protestant,Christian)

only 13 but interested in them. please help.

Our bodies are a gift from our Creator.....and they house our souls. It is a sin to disrespect that gift. So, we must not abuse our bodies...but getting a tattoo is not necessarily abusing our body. If you cover it with tattoos, it may be a sin.....like if you get drunk, you are abusing our body...but if you have a beer, it's not a sin....or any other example like eating food as opposed to getting obese..etc.

I don't believe they are a sin, some of the strongest Christians I know have tattoos, you can have a tattoo and be a christian but just don't get a bad tattoo

No, it is not a sin to have a tattoo. The Bible does not say it is, I go to the Bible for help...

I think it says something in the old testament about not to have any markings on the body like tattoos.

no... God made us all equally and we shouldnt judge others on how they look...i think some are really cool
