there are so many ways haha. you might have to try a few until you find the one that works for you! 1. Try to get scared/scare the person who has hiccups. It also might not be a human, so you can try to scare animals too.
2. Drink a glass of water. This sometimes works. But it never is 100%. I have gotten rid of hiccups by mostly drinking water. It is currently one of the best known ways to get rid of hiccups.
3. Hold your breath. Now, some people might find that this doesn't work, but this does work occasionally. I have tried it, and it's second best compared to drinking water. If drinking water doesn't work, this method immediately comes after it.
4. Lemon juice. I highly suggest this method if the drinking nor the holding of the breath works. Its sourness is one you cannot forget. Make sure to swallow only a little, because if you swallow too much, you'll be puckered for a while.
i've tried almost everything listed above & none of them worked UNTIL i found out about having a large tablespoon of peanut butter. by the time it's gone, so are the hiccups. i've showed so many people that trick & it's never once failed!!!!
AS stated once above a large teaspoon of sugar or a very sweet candy (like a large marshmallow. the sugar works EVERY time instantly, my kids prefer the candy method. We call it hiccup medicine. My doctor friend from India said this is common knowledge. She thought it ridiculous that we don't know this.
Tell yourself you will win $5,000 dollars if you keep hiccuping. Or tell someone else you have the hiccups, they can scare them out of you. ^^ My dad always does. Or lay on a chair upside down and hold your breath.

I know a cure for hiccups, it's pretty simple. Take about 5-8 sips of water, one right after the other. Then right after the last sip, hold your breath for about 10 seconds. I always do this whenever I have hiccups and it ALWAYS works.
this might sound crazy but i sing to cure my hiccups its really accurate i did it and it worked then i told my friends about it and it worked for them too then i told lots of other people and it worked for them too but if your not a good singer you should just drink water upside down its funny and it will work but the singing thing is really accurate
All hicupps are, is trapped wind, Believe it or not drink a glass of fizzy drink as fast as you can...build up a burp and.... *BURP* as much as you can. This releases the trapped wind, thus getting rid of your hicupps :) seriously, it works.

THIS WORKS!! it is an awkward position but, hold you nose, fingers closing ears real tight and drink water. if this does not work, you will be the first. it is thumbs on ears, pointer finger closing nostrils, and tip up cup of water with your pinkies.
This might be a little confusing but it works: Do you know how you drink out of the side of the cup that is closest to you? Well drink out of the side of the cup that is the farthest away from you. Bend over and drink. After you do that then you won't hiccup again.
First, block off all airways by putting fingers in your ears and blocking your nostrils. Then, take a sip or two of water from a glass. It is possible to do this alone (looks a bit silly - but is possible) but you may find it easier with an assistant. Sipping iced water. Swallowing granulated sugar. Biting on a lemon or tasting vinegar. Breath holding, breathing fast, or breathing into a paper bag. Gasping after a sudden fright, or sneezing. Pulling your knees up to your chest and/or leaning forward to compress the chest. Using a technique called the Valsalva manoeuvre. (The Valsalva manoeuvre means trying to push your breath out while you hold your throat and voice box closed.) The way to do this is to take a deep breath in, then keep the air inside you while pushing with your muscles as if to force the air out. This is like pushing in childbirth or straining on the toilet.
