What happens if a dance competition judge has a relationship with a contestant?

I am writing a story and I am researching right now, trying to get more information about my topic. The main character is a dancer in a competition and well.... you can see what happens. If one of the professional judges has a relationship with one of the dancing contestants, and somebody important finds out, what will happen to the judge, and the contestant?

that would depend on if the judge makes biased decisions. If the judge judges fairly, no harm is done. but if the judge would judge his partner better than the others, the judge would most likely get fired and the dancer might get kicked out of the competition. but it's your story, so you can decide what happens ;)

When a judge and a contestant have a relationship in a dancing competition, both their positions are compromised. The judge may be suspended from judging the competition. The contestant may also be disqualified from the competition. However, if this important person who discovers this relationship is a friend to the judge, he might decide to keep the relationship a secret.
