What does IBS stand for?

i know it means pounds but what does it stand for?

IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Lbs is pounds.

IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome .....LBS is Pound and is short for 'pound weight' which was libra pondo in Latin. The libra part meant both weight or balance scales. The Latin usage was shortened to libra, which naturally was abbreviated 'lb'. We adopted the pound part from pondo, yet kept the abbreviation for libra.

IBS or Lbs ? if lbs or lb it means pound (pound-mass), and that abbreviation is from Latin words means "Libra"...Libra is an old unit of weight measurement.
