Why does tyler the creator call himself an athiest?

An atheist, i believe is someone who doesn't believe in anything at all, not God or satan. So he calls himself this. But from what i've seen ( i listened to some of his videos after watching the VMA's) he worships the devil. He claims to be the satans son and clearly is more to the side of a satanist. I know this is not such a big deal but it kind of bothers me and i'm interested in religion, (even though i don't think satanist is a religion at all) so why does he call himself an atheist?

Publicity maybe ? more attention focused on him with people asking the same question you just did .

Atheists don't believe that God exists. Why would he believe in Satan and not God I wonder? Sounds contradictory.

It sort of depends on how he defines Satan. If it's a supernatural deity then no, he's not atheist. If it's just something supernatural (like a ghost), he may qualify. I'm not exactly sure, but I would say you're correct. He does seem contradictory. He's probably just playing with words and doesn't mean he's literally the son of Satan.

Tyler and most of the other members of Odd Future are in fact atheist. They all rap and say things about religions and the devil just to piss people off. It's almost like if someone really believed in aliens, and you told them that they were fake in order to piss them off.

Tyler is a atheist and says he is if you want proof listen to his song splatter but he also says he worships the devil but you really shouldn't belive everything you read because they also said he was an illuminati which is a white only group started by kkk members and you have to come from either one off the 2000 blood lines or the 20 family's in which it started but therefor hes not an illuminati wich is what people call him but he does worship the devil so yea like he said hes a paradox which he stated in Yonkers and he is a sociopath and has a multiple personality disorder wich you discover in his new album wolf so yea might wanna read this and look at the songs
