I followed in their footsteps.. They continue to be proud, daily.. Because I continue to follow their examples.. (The importance of a higher education, raising a family, being an exceptional member of my community, helping those less fortunate.. Etc...)
Doesn't matter what I do, I have a f@$&ed up brother who's in his 30's with no job, car, and still lives at home with mommy. Apparently being the kid "she doesn't have to worry about" means the kid she doesn't have to pay attention to.
I grew up to be a responsible person. I have a good track record. I am dependable and predictable. I'm loyal and have a sweet spirit. Plus I have a zany goofy silly unpredictable sense of humor. I have a tender heart and always pull for the underdog. My momma and Paula Deen would love me to pieces. My dad respects me for the man-up things I've done, like adopting my half black grandson proudly in the face of southern prejudice. It wouldn't be just one thing, it would be a blend of everything and the positive direction I always try to send my actions in. It's me being The K.
