Good fish for a 5 gallon tank?

I recently got a 5 gallon tank for my betta fish and want to get some more fish to go with him. What would be some good fish that won't grow to big for the tank. Also, since I'm a beginner fish keeper I would like to know what the maximum amount of fish would fit in a 5 gallon tank comfortably enough for them. I also have decorations if this takes away some room.

Bettas are only aggressive to other Bettas... and to blue gourami. The rule of thumb is two inches of fish for every gallon of water. You can put a couple of danios. A couple of tetras (any kind). A cory. A freshwater butterfly fish is really cool. And a tire track eel fish.

Betta fish are aggressive and need to live alone. If you want to even try to keep other fish in the same tank, you'd need a way bigger tank.
