A car is driving on a flat road. When the driver hits the brakes, the car slows down and stops. What would happen if there were no friction?

No friction at all? The car would never stop. No friction on the brakes, same. No friction on the road from tires? same. Even if it were 'on ice' like above it would still stop because there is friction on ice, just less. If there is NO friction, the car wouldn't stop.

If there was no friction, the car would probably not have stopped immediately the driver hit the brakes. Without friction, the car would just move forward as if it were on ice. Visit http://www.theweatherprediction.com/habyhints/10/ for details.

The car wouldn't stop at all. It would keep going. Just like being on a bike and trying to peddle with the chain not on.

The car would just keep sliding!

The car won't stop if it was already moving. But, if the car was stopped you could start moving either.

It would keep moving until it crashed into something. But if there is a world with no friction then there is no gravity either so maybe the car would just float away.
