How do i know what classes i need to take to become a doctor?

im 15 and wanting to become a doctor but i have no idea what classes im going to be taking or what classes i should be taking now in highschool please help!

A solid base of biology, chemistry and math is needed to become a doctor. English classes are also important so you can write research papers for journals or patient notes. But cellular biology and chemistry are incredibly important. If your school offers an anatomy and physiology class you should take that too. My high school offered it and it was a great prep for the advanced anatomy and physiology I had to take.

Just getting good grades and good SATs are best for high school because they get you into the good college that you can take more specific classes to get you into med school. Good luck !

I would think your guidance teacher could answer that for you.Usually many students do not know at 15 what they want to pursue, Many take a general course if they are leaning towards a business career, or a college course for anything else.
You need chemistry, biology etc for the field you are interested in, a language is good [Spanish]
Every school has it's curriculum rules tho, so you do need to talk to guidance.

Knowing a second language is a great tool in medicine! Spanish especially these days but knowing any will come in handy one day.

well one way is to be an unpaid intern or candy stripper in the hospital and dont be shy to ask questions of the nurses and doctors.

thank you. as a student in jr. high and high school 25yrs ago i was wanting to be a cheff. so i was able to work with family and friends in their restuarants and grills. and eventually went onto vo-tech and opened my own little grill for awhile. and did the same for the trucking industry 15yrs ago. and now i'm still at it. learning each day. if i can extend my learning/education in such a way. i hope the next generation can too. if they really want to be a doctor, there are programs through the schools/counselors that can get them into their desired fields much easier than it was for my generation and my parents. so best of luck. and dont just leave it to someone else to findout the information for you...GET OUT THERE AND JUST GO FOR IT!

all answers above are correct and your right on target to do it now.
Good medical schools look at both grades and outside school activities to achieve your level of dedication.
These are the leading factors in acceptance into good schools.
Take college prep courses as well as many science classes as possible.
Volunteer or work at any medical facility you have in your town. you'll need letters of recommendation from medical professionals who've worked with you too.
It's hard work and now is the time to train yourself to be disciplined enough to handle it.
For every 10 people that start medical school only 1 actually graduates.
Good luck!

Stick to science classes. If you end up in medicine fine, but even if you end up in any other scientific field you win!
