Even if you sin can you still go to heaven? If you don't go to church a lot but still pray to God is that ok?

Report as

Yes we're still sinners even when we ask the Lord into our hearts, its the part if we try not to sin and ask for forgiveness than we are still welcomes into the kingdom of heaven. Not going church is not a bad thing, but if you pray to God daily and try to keep his commandments than your doing the right things.

People need to repent of their sins to be forgiven

Everybody sins so yes you can still go to heaven if you do. To go to heaven all you have to do is accept Jesus as your savior and believe he died on the cross for your sins.

a relationship with God - meaning one on one - is all you need for God to accept you. If you sin you have to repent and ask for forgiveness, not only to God but the person you've hurt. I don't believe you'd go to hell if you don't go to church but its an act of respect and humility towards God if you do.

If you don't believe, then you will go to hell, unfortunately. I will pray for you that you may turn to Christ.

Heck, I sin all the time, and I'm ALREADY in Heaven! What comes closer to heaven than Northern California?

.... I don't really sin much - just poke fun at god and priests and things - but they deserve it because they take themselves so seriously.

I couldn't agree with you more about Northern CA. My grandparents lived in the mountains up there, and it's enchanting. I was in Hell, but the Texas summer just ended, so it's just Limbo right now.

Who are you poking, LadyD, and why are my ribs tickling?

@Reesinator - yes, I've heard it's been hot in Texas - the fires don't help.
I wish I did live in the hills, but, alas, I just get to walk on 'em.

Praying is NOT enough to go to heaven. Yes, everybody has sinned, and fallen short of the Glory of God, but you must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to go to Heaven. You must believe and accept the fact that you, and everyone around you is and will always be a sinner. You must believe and accept that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ to come to this sinful world as a man, and without sin, be punished for you and for me and for ALL of our sins. He died on the cross, the most humiliating punishment, and was buried. Three days later, He arose from the grave, and ascended into Heaven. Through God's ultimate sacrifice of His son, Jesus, we can all have eternal life with Him in Heaven. All we have to do is accept His gift of salvation, and try to live our lives to the best of our abilities to bring Glory and Honor to Him and His name. I hope this helps.

Very good question, first of all the Bible mentions at Romans 5:12 "just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world.." so we are all imperfect sinful humans to begin with. Secondly the scripture in John 3:16 clearly states "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." Notice the word "exercising" that involves action on a person. Jesus Christ highlighted that "Happy is the one conscious of their spiritual need.." in Matthew 5:3. So seeking the Bibles guidance and living by it's moral laws will give the reward of everlasting life that the true God Jehovah promises at Psalm 37:10,11- "the meek ones will possess the earth.." This is a very loaded question but I commend you for wanting to find the answer and I encourage you to look these scriptures up in your own Bible so you can see for yourself. Also here is a trusted site that will satisfy any more future questions that you have, there are solid answers, it's just a matter of looking... (www.watchtower.org)

The only problem with this question is, there are many different beliefs and religions out in this world!! So there for you may not get the answers you are looking for!! Only you can decided how well u know god and what your own beliefs are!! This is a question u have to look inside your own heart and pray about, so you and your god can decided together!!

Yes just try really hard not to do bad things. Make sure you are good to other people too. You're going to continue living once you die. Make sure you do everything you want to when your alive though. Live life to the fullest and don't worry, it goes on

I don't want to be offensive or mean, but God didnt create us to live the lives we want. He has created a path for us to follow. He created us to serve Him and praise Him and to guide others towards the path of riotousness.

Once we were all souls with god .. We were light .. We were love .. But we didn't really know what love was because we had nothing to compare it too.. So this physical realm was created with it's polarities so we could know love and joy by experiencing it's opposite in various forms. In our desire to know our true nature we put ourselves in a realm where we would sin and be sinned against .. but in reality there is no sin in us .. God doesn't feel we are sinning .. We are playing like little kids who when they're done will go inside their home with their parents .. God let's us play and experience what we sew through his immutable universal laws .. of gravity .. of grace .. of attraction and karma .. When it's time well go inside with god .. Well all love each other .. Hittler .. Casey Anthony included

77859, let me share an observation with you I've gathered from asking questions of faith: you're going to get a multitude of answers from devout, Bible-literate people that will vary radically. Everyone will zero in on the Scripture that supports their own predisposition on the subject while ignoring the ones that don't. Sit back and enjoy the show!
