I would say to watch any classic horror movies and others like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, any zombie movie, and the Evil Dead for some much needed comic relief after those, since I'm guessing you would be watching at night, because you may be too scared to walk down the hall, but Evil Dead does have some jumpy parts, to still keep you a little scared.
You need to watch paranormal activity one or any of them. Every time the door bell rings you will jump out of your skin. Literally I did it and by the end of the night the floor had eaten more popcorn then I had. good luck!
It might sound cheesy and very old old school but my favorite is a old Vincent Price movie called House on Haunted Hill made back in the 1950's and its in black and white and the only ghost who looks like a old dried out witch well you can tell she is cause its a life size doll on a board with wheels. The ghost is shown twice and you will have the biggest laugh at this movie because in the second scene as the ghost goes by you can see the wheels and the board under her long black dress. I jokingly call her the ghost witch who shreds the skate board park! There are nice things in it no blood, no hacking up of people, no limbs or parts being hacked off as in these stupid slasher movies. Its a nice Halloween movie everyone can watch and laugh at if your an adult who can see the cheesyness in the movie. House on Haunted Hill rent it, buy it, or go on Frostwire and illegally down load it for free and burn it to disk to watch on your tv. Netflix does not have it because its from 1953 so it was made just eight years after World War Two to tell you how old it really is.
