What are some must read books?

aside from all the classic novels and popular series (eg. hunger games, Harry plopper etc) what are some good reads that I may not have heard of (I'll read pretty much anything as long as it's interesting).

The same author also wrote Atlas Shrugged, which is very similar. If you only read one, I'd recommend the latter. Both are good however.

Diary of Anne Frank is quite interesting. I like the more classic novels (jane eyre, romeo and juliet, etc) but just whatever your style of reading is.

Fahrenheit 451...or Life of Pi (both if you want an in depth literacy book or a book filled with vocabulary and graphic imagery) . But if you want something entertaining I would choose the Hunger Games for sure :)

The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck is one of my favorites, anything by Chuck Palahniuk, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory McGuire. There are more but what genre would you like to read most?

Rebel Hearts: Journeys Within the IRA's Soul By Kevin Toolis or Killing Rage by Eamon Collins. Both are about the senseless murder and killing of innocent people by the IRA in Northern Ireland. Very interesting accounts of human brutality and ignorance on both sides of the conflict in modern history.

"The real diary of a real boy"
"Killing Lincoln"
"Killing Kennedy"

All are must reads.
The first one is just what the name says. Back in the eighteen sixties, a young boy (at the prodding of his father) kept a diary for one year. He
lived in a small town in mid-America.

You can probably get it free on the Internet. It's a delightful read.

The other 2 are very well written, well researched and compelling.

You WILL enjoy all three.

If you enjoy hunger games, you should read Battle Royale. It's in two movies and one book, book first of course before the movies. It's about students who are kidnapped against their will and forced to kill each other off in 3 days.
