If I am 14 years old and I still play with toys is that too childish?

I play with transformer action figures and kids say I am too old to play with toys.

Report as

Honestly, no, you are not too old to play with toys. If and/or when you decide that you are done with them, THEN you are too old to play with toys. Until then, do what makes you happy. Too many of us completely lose the child inside us too quickly. Adulthood, once you reach it, lasts forever. That's why I'm never going to grow up.

Time to grow up. 14 year olds in other countries carry rifles.

Many Baltic countries during WW2

And u bet if those kids had a choice, they'd rather still be able to play games.

Do you notice the correlation? Those countries that have 14 year olds with rifles are 2nd and 3rd world countries.

Nope. It's fine. You can be 50 and playing with toys. Do whatever makes you happy and everyone who tells you to grow up, ignore them and maybe ask them to remove the stick that has gotten wedged inside their stink hole.

No. Don't let people tell you what things you should or shouldn't do. Be yourself. I think I'm pretty old to be playing & sleeping with MY toys, but I do it any way and I don't give a sh*t who says I'm too old for it. I'll be 99 and still be pretending my stuffed animals and dogs can talk.

I know SENIORS who still mess around with those little things, during french class. I still have a stuffed animal elephant since when i was three, and I'm almost 17... plus i still secretly build things with legos- I love being able to destroy something and create it in a matter of minutes... my dad still does too. Dont ever let anyone say you are too old for something!!! People now a days want to grow up so quickly, i understand in maturity, but why let go of child hood? it is somethign meant to be cherished! Why do you think so many older people wish that they werer still young?! Engoy it while you can! :D

Naw man/women society makes it seem like "ooh when you are this old you need to start doing this and give up doing that" in my opinion I think its fine, do whatever makes you happy and ignore the ignorance of judgmental people.

So you still enjoy toys! NOT a problem, better than being 14 and pregnant, or having a girlfriend who is! Nothing to worry about, you will move on to other things when the time is right, in the mean time enjoy!

We never truly grow out of the inner child. Honestly, don't take offense but at 14 you're still a kid. Don't rush through your child, it will give you great memories as an adult. In my 30's and still love the muppet show, way before you were born. Imagination is amazing, use it every chance you get.

You noticed that people said both "yes" and "no", in the other comments, right? This should show you that it really doesn't matter -- if you have fun with it, why not? I know adults that collect toys for a hobby, and a couple admit that once in a while they just play with them. Great stress relief.
If somebody gets all bent out of shape about it, that just means they are more insecure about 'what it looks like' rather than realizing it is what it is: fun.

That was mean and you know it. You go to all the trouble to make sure the scriptures fit just right in your design and that's the same as playing a game with words. Tell him you're sorry or you're not really the Christian you say you are.

Dude, watch Toy Story 3. Hold on to your toys as long as you possibly can. I think once you find them uninteresting, that's when you're too old for them. Stop whenever you want, and don't mind what others things. Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. :)

When world leaders and their generals plan wars, they use little war toys and virtual computer technology to plan AND guess what the plan of attack will be from all sides. And they're old guys! You aren't playing with toys...YOU ARE PLANNING WORLD DOMINATION !!! Go forth and take over the world ! And have FUN!

Not at all! honestly, playing with action figures is not that childish. The other kids just want to grow up to fast. I know many people like that. I make videos with my action figures, and people say that to me. Just ignore them.

I am nearly 15, and I am fairly normal. I still play with G.I Joes( they are the best) and sometimes i hang out with some friends and truly impressed with my skills ( Just kidding, I suck ), but any way. Having fun and laughing both increase brain activity. You may very well become the biggest genius you know...

Not really. Alot of it depends on your peer groups, your birth order and other social considerations. If none of your friends your own age play with toys/transformers, then you would probably be likely to play with them. Do what makes you feel comfortable, you will "grow up" aka develop other interests soon enough, so theres no point in worrying about it.
