Can you ruin hair by washing it too much?

okay well I might be a bit of a clean freak when it comes to my hair. It just always has to be perfectly clean no grease. I hate it. yuck. haha. but I think I heard somewhere you can damage your hair by washing it too much. See my thing is I sometimes end up washing my hair as much as two times a day. (say I wash it in the morning to be able to start over with my hair and then shower at night of course washing it again in the process) can I damage my hair by this? also I heard some people can go a few days between hair washing??? I'm lucky if I make it to a second day with out my hair becoming icky and greasy. and I use de-grease shampoo and de-grease conditioner. how can I keep my hair from getting oily so fast???

Avoid touching or brushing your hair as much as possible while still keeping it neat. Especially if you've just eaten food! Comb it instead if you have tangles.

Wash your hair frequently but not every day this may cause the oils to be stripped too quickly causing them to come back as more. If you have naturally greasy hair wash it every 2-3 days.

You can use baby powder or dry shampoo to make your hair look less greasy by rubbing it in to your roots, but don't put too much in so that people can see whiteness on your hair. try combing it out afterwards

Just wash it, that's really the only thing.

Depends on the shampoo, and if you wash it more than once a day, just use conditioner in the first wash

Try finding a shampoo without sulfates. If you have a whole foods in your area, their store brand (360) has a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner in three different types / scents. I use the mint shampoo for oily hair. It does really nice things to my hair and it is not super oily at the end of the day. It is not very expensive either - 18oz bottle for $2.99.
