What are your political views, and why?

This is probably a bad idea, but I'm curious as to what the majority of the answers will be!

I like what republicans say for the most part but I disagree with the social things- like their views on abortion and gay marriage.
I cannot vote :P If I could, I promise I would bother to learn a lot more about the world ha.

I've lived in Massachusetts all my life and I thought Romney was a pretty good governor while he was in office. He inherited a budget deficit which he turned into a surplus, which the following administration quickly turned back into a deficit. Unemployment in the state fell during his term.

*note - I'm not too keen on Romney as a presidential candidate. He flip-flopped on a lot of issues in order to curry favor and win the backing of the Republican Party. He's not the same guy now that he was as governor of Massachusetts. If he was I'd be glad to give him my vote. This November I'm only giving my vote to him because I refuse to give it to Obama.

I dislike all politicians. They live on a different planet. I use to be a Dem but switch to Ind.now I don't respect any politician. They all lie to get votes. Going to the polls this Nov. will be like going to the dentist to have a root canal. We need people to run, not parties..too many special interest groups and power seekers. Not enough in the pool to choose from. There you go. :(

I agree. Personally, I'm tired of all the parties. I don't care your beliefs, we as a country just need to be united instead of divided.. I swear, a war is going to break out between democrats and republicans sooner or later. I totally respect your answer though.
Report as
ty...tough topic to discuss lol I will tell you one thing..I would never lose a friend because of a politician. They just are not worth a friendship. They only want our vote. A good friend should be one through thick and thin. Have a good weekend:)
Report as
I firmly believe that there is no real difference in the parties. I think behind the scenes they all more or less cooperate and play the game together. They only keep up the appearance of two separate parties for our benefit. We get so fired up about politics that we argue back and forth and waste our energies instead of uniting and affecting real positive change. Look at American history. The colonists banded together in one accord and overthrew an oppressive system of government to establish their own better system. Our own government has become as oppressive and as out of touch with our interests as King George III of England was. But they keep us divided against ourselves so we don't unite against them. That's why they go through this elaborate ruse to keep us divided along party lines, and racial lines, and economic lines, and any other sort of division that works to their benefit. They watch us bicker and argue, laughing at us the whole time as they systematically r@pe and plunder the country for everything they can grab.
Report as
agree...guess we all know this. but power is hard to shoot down...
Report as
It is. Knowing a system is corrupt and being able to correct it are two different things.
Report as
You think there will be a Revolt?
Report as
No. In time there may be a collapse, but no revolt. As I said, we can't seem to agree amongst ourselves on anything.
Report as
Maybe, but people are more educated and know what is going on. You can just take so much..Some may try revolting..but it would take many and with organization..ahhhhhhh what a mess... :(
Report as
Some people are more educated but I think they are by far in the minority. Look at how low voter turnout always is. The sad fact is most people just don't care. Have you ever heard the ancient Roman idea of Bread and Circus? As long as you keep the people fed and entertained you can run the empire any way you like and they will barely notice. The majority of people devote more interest to Honey Boo Boo and the Real Housewives than those who run our country. I think the only reason this election is getting more notice is that the economy stinks and there's consequently a lot less bread in the Bread and Circus.

You make good points..

I would vote for mitt Romney because Obama is (in my opinion) the worst president we've ever had. I'm not racist, but he's put the USA in more debt that we've been in in probably 20 or 30 years. He's pretty such destroyed us and we'll be so far in the hole it'd be almost impossible to get out of it if he's reelected. My family said that we'd move out of the country if e gets voted again no joke

I believe neither the Democrats nor the Republicans represent our interests anymore. Things seem to progress more or less the same regardless of who we vote into office. I am a conservative on most issues. I believe we need to reign in government to be more in keeping with the limits of power laid out by the Constitution. Government has become too invasive and has co-opted more power and autonomy in our personal lives than is their right. I believe America should go back to a foreign policy of non-intervention in world affairs. The "world police" routine is neither wanted nor appreciated. Our views are represented by our membership in the UN and that should be the extent of it. We have more than enough problems brewing at home without seeking (or creating) more abroad. I believe the extent of government should be to defend our borders, to maintain law and order, and to promote commerce. Americans need less intervention by the federal government, not more.

Socially libertarian, economically socialist. I'm a member of the Canadian New Democrat Party, and if I was American, I would vote for the American Green Party in the upcoming elections.

I believe that everyone's equal, and that this should be reflected in both our society (no racism or homophobia) and our economy. (To put it simply, Donald Trump should not get a f****** private jet while the rest of us burn.)
