What causes a newborn baby to have a low white blood cell count?

Some causes of low white blood cell count in a newborn baby are vitamin deficiency, aplastic anemia, viral infections, hyperthyroidism and congenital disorders. There is splenomegaly and lupus. It is advisable to seek medical help for proper treatment.

Thank you so much, some friends just had their first baby. I myself never had this problem with my 4 children when they were born. So, I had no answer to give them. I really appreciate your help..
