If a recipe calls for pie tins, can you use a glass pie plate instead and if so would the recipe turn out OK?

well if it says pie tins you might want to use them but if you do you a glass one make sure you adjust the time down because glass tends to heat faster than aluminum...and check it ocassionally and if you have to add extra time then do it in small intervals...

Yes it will turn out okay, but the heat transfer through glass is a little slower so it might take a few minutes longer for the crust to crisp.

The glass holds heat longer and also heats more slowly (slightly). When you take the glass dish out of the oven make sure it cools quickly as the food is still cooking or take it out a bit early.

Yes.. But it may cook a little faster. Or slower. I can't remember which one...

Glass is fine. The only difference may be in cooking time. Just be more observant about it being fully baked.
