The Philippines has a population of about 94 million and a birth rate of about 24.98 births/1,000 population per year. This means about 2.35 million babies are born each year. There are about 31,536,000 seconds in a 365-day year, so when you do the math (2.35 million/31,536,000), about 0.075 babies are born every second. Since humans cannot be in fractions, we can say a baby is born every 2 seconds.
