Why isn't my iPod Touch working?

Help! I woke up my iPod Touch, and I accidentally hit the camera button, and then it froze. I kept hitting the power button and the home button, but it wasn't working. I left it alone for about an hour. When I came back, the screen was black and there was that little swirly thing that shows up when you turn it off. The screen has been doing the same thing for 3 hours. Any ideas on what to do?

Hold down the home button and the top button at the same time, for about a minute.

Do hard reset by holding home and power till screen goes black (no spinning wheel )
Since its on normal firmware there isn't safe mode which it's trying to achieve or fix it self which takes forever ,

hold the home and lock (top button) for 10 seconds... then let go and only hold the lock button for 10 seconds... then you may have to just turn it on
