An author's purpose is not a story element. A story element is mainly used to the setting, plot, characters, and theme of a story while the author's purpose mainly tells the main reason of the story. The author's purpose is mainly used to bring out the education, entertainment or information in order to persuade the reader. A story element is used to support the author's purpose.
