Can frozen pipes thaw on their own?
Yesterday we came home to a house with no water. Evidently that morning we used what was remaining in the water heater. After checking to see if our water had been mistakenly shut off or there was a scheduled outage we were unaware of, we were told "Your pipes must be frozen". We were not able to get someone to come look at them immediately. When I came home this evening, miraculously we have water. Is it possible for pipes to thaw on their own (in still sub-freezing temps).? If so how does this happen?
