Listen. You are 14 and a young woman. Part of growing up is admitting you need help. First of all, you don't even know you have a yeast infection unless you get checked out by a doctor. It could not even be a yeast infection. There is another common vaginal infection called bacterial vaginosis. It is similar to a yeast infection except it is caused by bacteria instead of yeast. This cannot be treated over the counter.
You will eventually have to see a doctor for female issues anyways. You need to get this taken care of. To be honest, most women I know can't go a few hours with a yeast infection much less days. I know you are scared but this has to be taken care of. No one will think less of you. Your mother gets them, your doctors get them, all women get vaginal infections. Doctors are trained to deal with these issues. They do not judge you, they do not think it is gross.
You need to tell your mom, at least that way you can get over the counter medications to help. Just know, if you don't go to the doctor for yeast infection medications, the meds you get without a prescription have to be inserted into the vagina. The doctor can prescribe a pill. Your choice.
You should let your mom know she is your mom there is nothing to be embraced about she could take you to the gynecologist there could be another under laying problem.
If u have money go to the drug store and get some monistat.
The best thing to do would be to just go to the doctor. They sell stuff at the drug store that can help but all it does is treat the symptoms. It doesn't cure it and it could be something else besides a yeast infection. Monistat has a test thing you can buy that will tell you if it is a yeast infection or possibly something worse.
My first question is have you had sex? If you have you may have contracted gonorrhea which have the same symptoms as a yeast infection. Id get it checked right away. You can go to the local health dept w/o your mother and be checked. They do not charge and they will not release info to parents if you go on your own.
the best thing you could do is tell your mother, have the guts to do it. Although it may sound embarrassing just tell her, by the way she is only your mother. Go to a doctor and get it cured. and from now try telling your mom about such things, you and your mom would feel open to each other.....
There is always yeast in our bodies, it gets out of hand when there is an imbalance. It doesn't necessarily mean you have done anything wrong. While yeast infections can be transmitted sexually, that is not always the cause. And young girls today often like to share clothing, even down to intimate undergarments. While most organisms can't be transferred through clothing. Yeast can, because it can be reactivated by moisture. So if you are sharing clothing, i.e. (pants, tights or underwear please stop). A good at home remedy is a vinegar and water douche. Do this 3 X for 1 week say on Mon. Wed. & Fri. If by the weekend it has not improve, it's not just a normal yeast infection and you need to tell your mom, so she can set up a gynecological exam for you immediately, something could be wrong.
Go see the doctor if you don't you might regret it and catch something else. Don't suffer in pain
You sound stuborn -_____- sit your mom down and talk to her seriously this is your body!
You should tell your mom. However I know a great cure. See when you are diabetic and your numbers are all crazy you can have a constant yeast infection. Mine lasted a little over a year. Then a doctor told me to use plain yogurt. Seriously! Not vanilla, ONLY plain. You use it, you don't eat it. It actually works!
Your only option really is the doctor. Yeast infections can be quite common, my daughter got one when she was only 3. It was caused by anti-biotics. I myself get them if I use anything with perfume or dye down there, I got one once from my mom changing dryer sheet brands.
Your gonna have to do something though, eventually your mom will notice you consistently scratching at your crotch area....just saying.
It's really not a big deal, my daughter is your age. A yeast infection doesn't mean you've been having sex, you probably aren't even allowed to date yet, it means your body's ph system is out of wack and it's needs to be fixed. True for women of any age. Oh yeah, check your tampons and pads, scented ones can cause yeast infections also.
BTW- it will start to smell. Just a heads up there.
I wish you luck.
Its clear you are not going to tell your mom, you don't have money to buy a potential remedy , and you won't go to a doctor . Basically , you are SOL. find someone , friends mom? You need to accept assistance to get better, bottom line .
First of all you need to tell your Mom,because you don't even know what you got. Your'e starting off the wrong way, your Mom should be the first person to know ANYTHING that's wrong with you. You might need to be seen by a doctor young lady. You need to take care of that soon as possible.
