Excuse me, but if I could get a word in for a moment. Is this a monologue? I'm interested to read other answers to this question. Non-stop talking is terribly rude. It is usually done by people having pedestrian lives. I could use help with this too.
One thing I still regret from 20 years ago, a coworker of mine was a non-stop chatter box, he went on and on and on. I was friends with this dude, he was really cool, but he just never stopped talking. One day I interrupted him and said "Does your wife ever let you speak at home?" I meant it as a joke, but the look on his face and the dead silence in the room full of people who love to joke around and tease each other told me everything I needed to know about what I had just done.
It's better to just put your headphones on and act busy and walk away than to say anything like I did. It was 1989 and I still regret saying it. This man had me over his house for Thanksgiving dinner and this is what I say to him? I learned a lot from that mistake.
