Are you a beginner in that particular language? if you are, this is a general roadmap to learning any foreign language.
1. Enrol online language course first. This helps you learn some basic vocabulary and grammar structure in your own time and at your own pace. Doesn't cost much and if you are a self-motivated type or have a particularly strong reason for learning that language, it works, as far as levels A1 and in some cases even A2 (basic levels) are concerned. My recommendation: Mangolanguages.
2. If you can master this level or levels online, next step is to enrol in an offline language course (level A2/B1, or B1/ B2) i.e. a group. You have to get yourself tested by that online school, so that you can attend your classes in a group that has a similar level of knowledge as yours.
3. Only then is it cost-effective and makes sense to go to a country where that particular language is spoken. Now you have some knowledge and you are able to communicate and pick up more advanced language skills than you would be if you didn't know any of it.
I know what I am talking about here, but right now I don't have time to go into any more details. I wish you success!
