Weight lifting question
So I am joining the Air Force and one the physical requirements for the job I may do is I have to be able to lift 70 pounds above my head. Sounds easy I know but I'm a very scrawny guy. I'm 5'8" and weigh roughly 120 pounds so I'm not huge. Needless to say I am more of an endurance athlete so I do not have much upper body strength. My work out plan I've started is I use a 30 pound dumbbell and do 5 arm curls for each arm, then I hang it by my side and lift it up 5 times for each arm, then do a lawn mower thing 5 times for each arm. Next I do a back arm lift 5 time, I do these all with the 30 pound weight. then with a 80 pound weight bar I hold it at my thighs and lift it to my belly button 5 times then hold it down and push my shoulders to my ears. That is all one set and I do about 5 to 6 of those a day. is that enough? anybody have any ideas to help? I can lift like 50 over my head. Does my workout sound good tho?
