What would loud booms be from inside my house?
I live in the upstairs apt of a duplex. Last week I heard a loud BOOM that shook the walls in my house. It sounded like it came from my attic/roof and/or walls. I heard it again 5 minutes later. I checked every corner of my house, checked the outside, and checked the roof. Couldn't find a reason. So I called my downstairs neighbor to ask him if he had dropped something (that would've had to have been no smaller than a fridge) or driven his car into our house. He hadn't, and hadn't even heard it.
It only happens once a day other than that 1st day. It sounds like it's coming from the inside of my house. It's a single, loud, boom and the pictures on my walls shake. Could it be my heater (forced air)? The foundation is severely crumbling too, could it be that? There's nothing close enough to the house to fall on my roof, or brush against it. I don't think it's related to weather or time of day. It's scaring me, but it's like pulling teeth to get my landlord to act like a landlord so I haven't called them yet. What could this be?
