How do I remove one coat of latex paint from oil base painted metal doors easily?

I have to paint metal front doors inside and out to look like wood. The people just bought the house, and it was quickly painted with one coat of latex paint over the oil base, and it has peeled in an spot where I noticed that it was oil underneath. I would prefer not to sand, being that the doors are metal, but is that the only way to get the latex off easily?

I agree with bill41, but I have also been able to use a stiff brush and hot soapy water. Just start scrubbing where the paint has already started to peel or chip, and the hot water and soap seems to get under the layer of latex paint and comes right off. I have also used some 70% alcohol on a few stubborn spots with some success. The hot soapy water works especially well if the latex paint hasn't cured for 3 weeks or more. Good luck with your project. Hope this helps.
