How did the british government reacted to the Boston massacre?

Report as

Henfrayyy is right. However he didn't mention that the British soldiers were defended in court by John Adams.
John Adams really hated the British but he was a stand-up guy. He didn't have to be their lawyer but he did it because it was the right thing to do and he knew it.

Their response was to withdraw British troops from Boston to Castle Island and form an inquiry into the incident. There was a court hearting in which all but two of the eight soldiers charged with murder were acquitted with the other two being charged with manslaughter.
