When you use a towel to dry your hair do not rub back and forth. Just take the towel and work from the roots and gently pull down to the ends. Your hair is made out of scales and by working from roots to ends you keep the scales flat. Split end is basically the scales pulling away.
There's a product called Infusion that is wonderful for split ends. You put it in your hair when it's damp and leave it in. But, first, what I would (and it's even better if you have a friend do it) is take some of your hair and twist it (not too big a piece if you've got thick hair), but pretty tightly, and then take some hair scissors and cut some of the hairs that are sticking out. These are a lot of the split ends. Then after you do that to all of your hair, wash your hair (or if it's clean, just dampen it) and then put on the Infusion and leave it in. Good luck, honey.
