Will God accept me back if I leave Him and turn to the occult

I was saved in my twenties...used mightily of God...got my eyes on the preacher and people...turned to the occult for a few years...maybe 3 or 4...then backslid for 25 years, will God accept me back or is it like Hebrews 6 says...once you have tasted the sweetness of God and rejected Him you may not come back?

Sir, know that the blood of Christ is not limited in its potency. An omnipotent God can forgive any sin known to man. In Hebrews 6.4, "it is impossible to renew them again to repentance". Indeed it is. Remember though the words of Mark 10.27, "with men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God." That's just it, we as men cannot bring ourselves to repentance; it is God that works this repentance in us. If God is bringing you to repentance for sin and a renewed relationship with him, be assured beyond a shadow of a doubt that the blood of His Son and His infinite grace is sufficient to cleanse any sins you may have committed! God bless you my brother!

These are things that we want to believe. It just depends on what your beliefs are and where you are now with your God. No answers are the correct ones for everyone. Just as long as you believe then that is what matters.

There are correct answers for everyone. If you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and belive he died on the cross for your sins, then there is nothing God won't forgive you for. The only uunfoegivable sin is rejection of him and his son. If you have not yet turned to the occult then I would advise not to. Trust me when I tell you that God will forgive you but he will also let you live with the consiquences of your actions. There are things you cannot unsee or undo. Please listen. No matter what anyone tells you, there is one right answer. Jesus. Those who deny him will pay for their actions. Despite what people tell you, there is absolute truth. It's in the Bible. If you turn to Jesus you will never need to turn to anyone or anything else.

The passage in Heb 6 describes those who came close to salvation but were not saved. Your situation is that you were backslidden and we learn from the parable of prodigal son that God is ready and even anxious to take you Bach home. Run back and never leave again.

It may be hard to believe, but God loves us, and does not want us to perish. The fact that you have a desire to come back, it means that you were truly saved. If you were not, you would not have thought of it. If you truly repent of your backsliding, God will accept you, forgive you and restore you to his loving arms. He said he is married to the back-slider remember? Just be true, faithful, and genuine in your search for him, his arms are outstretched. Forgive yourself, so that you can accept his forgiveness. Get into your bible, surround yourself with loving christians who understands where you are at, and would encourage and not judge you. God bless you and welcome home,

It really depends on how one interprets scripture. There are more interpretations than there are grains of sand. However, looking more to your question. You said, "turn to the occult" - this is a very general statement indeed; without much more to go on. At this point one would have to resort to prophesy to guess your intentions concerning "occult"; as there are some forms that god finds an abomination before him. While others do not even get an honorable mention in scripture. As a side note there are many occult practices still maintained by Christianity since its inception. One only has to look to Catholicism and the adaptations by other sects that birthed from it. Even so, I have digress, in the days before the New Testament, when the Hebrew peoples were still in Babylon - magic (occult) was an accepted practice among the peoples - it was a norm - but, a civil war broke out between the sects of peace loving Elohists (worshippers of the original scriptures god Elohim and the war like Yahwists (worshippers of Yahweh). history shows who won. So Elohim embraced the use of magic (occult) by the people; An Yahweh did not. So in essence, you will have to find out whom you are worshipping before you choose. Agape

Acts 3:19 says: "Repent therefore and turn around so as to get your sins blotted out.". So not only do you repent and ask God for forgiveness, you must also stop doing the thing that you are asking forgiveness for. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 mentions things involved with the occult, and how they are detestable to God, so it is a very positive thing that you are no longer involved with that. Study your Bible, things will get better :)
