Would you give your Life for someone you don't even know?

Report as

When I was in the military I took an oath to defend my country, had I been deployed to the war (Gulf 1) I would've risked my life to defend not just my country but also the lives of the people IN my country, and I don't personally know all 350 million people in America, so ... yes.

When I die my will states that you can take whatever parts you need. So I guess I am giving my life for somebody I never met.

These days the community in general, and people in general are bad, rarely finding people who are worthy of being called nice and respectfull.
Meaning the chances of my life being given to someone mean and bad are more than to a nice person my answer would be NO.

It depends on the situation. I would push someone out of the way of a train or car if my body let me (in life-threatening situations it can be hard to think clearly outside of your will to survive). If a person was aiming a gun at a child, I'd jump in front of them. But I wouldn't just let people put me to sleep to transplant my organs for a stranger.

I completly agree! Nobody knows how they would react but we know what we would do if we were able to clearly think

I know someone who did that for me!!
John 15:12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
Peace

I use to be a flight medic. We delivered a patient to Children's Hospital. When lifting off of the pad (about 3 or 4 stories high on top of a parking garage) to return to base, we lost power and hit the ground hard. Ex-military pilots are the best. All BK117 helicopters in the U. S. were grounded for inspection. Fast forward years, six days after my last flight the same thing happened to my replacement. He was paralyzed, the flight nurse died and the pilot died.
I was involved in search and rescue using search dogs. Our dog went over the edge of a cliff. I decided to go over to rescue the dog. We were working with another team and I trusted them to rig the anchor and lines correctly. When I reached the dog, I discovered the child that we were looking for was about another yard below the dog. I attached a line to the dog, so they could haul her up, while I proceeded down to the girl. We packaged her up and hauled her up. As the were raising me, the anchor broke and I fell (more like tumbled) down the cliff. It was a long way down. Tore both sides of my nose (almost lost it), tore the retina in my right eye (The Ohio State University Optomatry School uses my photos as a teaching aid), punctured a lung with a broken rib, pulled a lot of ligaments in my back and was laid up for a long time; and to top it all off, I had to perform a self-rescue to get out of there. I stopped doing high angle rescue, because I no longer trust anybody with the rigging.

I will sacrifice my own life to save someone else's. Not many people deserve a person to do that though, but I'm a very giving and caring person, so I will do anything that would involve putting my own life at risk to save a complete stranger's life.

I would love to say yes for this question but I have to say no because I don't think I could. Unless its just one of those fast decision I wouldn't know til it happened :)
