As I am diagnosed with Chronic Depression, I am trying to overcome it by taking a part in things I really enjoy, or have a new interest in. Try listening to a new form of music, go for long walks in the dark (BUT BE CAREFUL!!! Or TAKE A FRIEND!!!) surround yourself with positive people, vibist a new place. Try some of those.
Never take a medication for emotions, those arent the answer. I can see on your profile picture that you seem young, so a long time of stuff to go on with your life. To beat depression do what you enjoy, prepare yourself for the future. Put yourself goals, and make others happy, help others and be nice. You will feel great when making those who suffered from depression stop feeling so sad anymore. Put yourself a challenge, and accomplish them, no matter how hard things are, you atleast know you that you live, and by living you where given what many dont have, or have lost, so live! enjoy life. Do excercize, run, jog, swim, tennis, basketball, volleyball, or go in go karts. Whatever your reason is for being sad, just think about the world in a positive way, about all the video games out there! the food ooohhh yeaaaa you got to admit, chocolate is delicious, and all the sports, and places to explore.
Eventually you will get out of depression, with medications (nasty, unhealthy) or without it. It might take you months, or years, or you can stand up right now and just say- ENOUGH.
As silly as it sounds, exercise really does help a lot. Getting outdoors also helps a lot, sun and fresh air does wonders. As far as the mental portion, finding a hobby besides television. Even video games aren't too bad because you are actively involved.
