CD installation key missing from a game I bought at a store. Is it legal to acquire the key via the internet?

I bought a legal copy of a CPU game from a thrift store but the installation key is missing.

It is legal to get the installation key online. There are various sites where you can download the key, for instance magical jelly bean keyfinder or winkeyfinder.
